I posted this after the fact, but want to let everyone know that the Baker Apple Orchard is open the month of October on the weekends. They will be offering delicious apples and the Art Gallery will be open as well, featuring wonderful works from local artists!

Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary

My friend Jan, who is also a photographer, traveled with me on my birthday to the Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary north of Rice Lake, WI. Although we got a few good pics, I think our chatting may have scared away the bigger animals. Oh well, it was bound to happen with a newfound friendship such as ours. According to Jan, she was OK with that - she didn't feel like running into a bear on the "Bear Trail". She did manage to get a great pic of a momma deer and her fawn, however. My camera was not strong enough to capture the image, so I settled for bumblebee and dragonfly pics.  :)
